Graver Sharpening

Class Outline

Class 1: Graver geometry, heel lift angles, 90° vs. 120° gravers, side shaping angles, traditional heel vs. parallel heel, heel length, removing background, face angles for hard and soft metals, sharpening vee and flat gravers, bulino gravers for dot and line work, and vee angles for painted shading lines. Class 2: Grinding “parallelish” heels, grinding flat gravers, radiused heels for bright cut work, radiused faces, and truing up gravers.

Graver Sharpening

This is the most important class you will ever take. Understanding which graver to use for different applications and how to sharpen will eliminate wasted practice time and poor quality work.

Join me and learn the many applications and modifications to V shaped gravers as well as flats, rounds, and specialty gravers.

I will not promote a specific company but will be teaching universal principles that can be applied to any sharpening system.
